Follow a single job on the map, from the moment you ask for help to the moment your vehicle is dropped off.

  1. 01 Request

    Tell us where you are.

    Set your pickup and drop-off, then choose flatbed, 4x4 or commercial. You see the price for each type before you book.

    • Answer a few quick questions about your vehicle, like whether it starts and how many people need a lift.
    • Need it later? Pre-book from 1 hour to 30 days ahead.

  2. 02 Matched

    An approved driver accepts.

    Your request goes to approved drivers near your pickup, or to a driver you choose by name. When one accepts, you pay by card in the app.

    • Drivers see your answers about the vehicle before they accept.
    • If no driver accepts within 15 minutes, your request closes and you’re not charged.

  3. 03 On the way

    Watch them come to you.

    Follow your driver live on the map. You’ll get a notification when they accept, arrive, start and complete the job.

    • Message your driver in the app, or call them.

  4. 04 Recovered

    Dropped off. Receipt sent.

    Your vehicle is taken to your drop-off. Your receipt is emailed to you when you pay, and it’s always in your bookings.

ROVR connects you with independent recovery drivers who have been checked and approved by ROVR. It’s an iPhone app for customers and drivers, free to download, and you pay for each recovery.

  • Send it to any available driver near your pickup, or choose a driver by name.
  • You’re not charged when you book. You pay in the app when the booking goes live, about 45 minutes before pickup.
  • Cancel free of charge until a driver accepts, and up to 2 hours before pickup after that.

Prices and payment

Price first.
You see the price in the app before you pay, based on the driving distance and the recovery type, with the night rate (22:00 to 04:30) included. All prices shown are the total you pay, including VAT where it applies.
Asked, never assumed.
If the driver who accepts is more than 25 miles away, a call-out charge may be added, and we always ask you to confirm the new price first.
Card, in the app.
You pay by card once a driver accepts, the payment is processed securely by Stripe, and ROVR never sees your full card number.
Receipt, by email.
Your receipt is emailed to you when you pay, and you can open it any time from your bookings.
No driver, no charge.
If no driver accepts within 15 minutes, your request closes automatically and you’re not charged.
Pre-booked? Pay when it goes live.
You’re not charged when you book. You pay in the app when the booking goes live, about 45 minutes before pickup.
Cancel free before you pay.
If you cancel after paying, once a driver has been assigned, 80% of the price is refunded. If no driver has been assigned, or the driver cancels, you get a full refund. Cancellations in the Terms.

Safety and support

Safety is part of every booking.

  • Documents checked

    Every driver’s documents are checked by ROVR before they can take jobs.

  • A clear record

    Add photos of your vehicle’s condition before it’s moved.

  • Private chat

    Chat is only between you and the other person on your booking, and you can report a problem from the chat.

  • Secure payments

    Card payments are processed by Stripe. ROVR never sees your full card number.

For recovery drivers

Run a recovery vehicle? ROVR brings jobs to you.

Keep 85% of each fare. ROVR’s platform fee is currently 15%.

  1. Sign up as a driver in the ROVR app. You must be 21 or over.
  2. Add your driving licence, insurance and V5C. ROVR checks your documents before you can receive jobs.
  3. Set up payouts with Stripe.

What if no driver accepts my request?

If no driver accepts within 15 minutes, your request closes automatically and you’re not charged.

When do I pay?

For a recovery now, you pay by card in the app once a driver accepts. For a pre-booking, you’re not charged when you book: you pay in the app when the booking goes live, about 45 minutes before pickup.

Can I cancel, and do I get my money back?

Cancelling before you pay is free. If you’ve paid and no driver has been assigned, or the driver cancels, you get a full refund. If you cancel after paying, once a driver has been assigned, 80% of the price is refunded. Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Read the Terms.

How is the price worked out?

Prices are based on the driving distance and the recovery type, and the night rate (22:00 to 04:30) is included in the price shown. If the driver who accepts is more than 25 miles away, a call-out charge may be added. We always ask you to confirm a new price first.

What will the app ask about my vehicle?

A few quick taps: whether it starts and drives, how many people need a lift with it, and, if you like, what has happened and where it is. Drivers see your answers before they accept. If you add a note, your driver sees it once they’ve accepted. If 3 or more people need a lift, the recovery has to be a 4x4.

Can I cancel a pre-booking?

Yes. Cancel free of charge until a driver accepts, and up to 2 hours before pickup after that. Once a pre-booking has gone live and you’ve paid, it’s cancelled like a recovery now.

Who carries out the recovery?

An independent recovery driver. ROVR connects you with independent recovery drivers who have been checked and approved by ROVR, shows you the price and takes your payment in the app. The driver carries out the recovery and is responsible for it.
